TPMS Sensor Reprogramming - Winter Rims - 2016 Odyssey
Hi all,
Just purchased a used 2016 Honda Odyssey and am considering putting TPMS Sensors in a set of winter rims/tires. I understand that reprogramming is required each time the rim/tire sets are changed. I will only install these things if it's possible to do this on my own. Could someone familiar with the tools / process walk me through it? Assuming I have a set of winter rims (honda steel), tpms sensors(not purchased yet), and a set of winter tires (not installed).
What tools do I need?
Is there a difference between the TPMS initial setup and what I would have to do each rim/tire swap at each season change (winter->summer and vice versa)?
edit - after some digging, it seems as though there are 2 options:
1. Buy a set of "clone-able" TPMS sensors for the winter set, and use a tool to set the TPMS identities to match the TPMS IDs in the summer set. Now when the rims/tires are changed, the van won't think anything is different.
2. Buy the ATEQ quickset tool and use it to reprogram the codes each time I change my rims/tires.
experiences with any of the above would be helpful!
Thanks!
