ASR Gone?
.
I"ve been trying to reach ASR Suspension. I'm interested in their rear subframe brace for my '90 Integra. They don't answer the phone, or email. I've tried several times.
I have a couple questions for them.
Anybody have any contact with them?

I don't know what to think about this company.
Very weird. I asked them, can you install the subframe brace without the sway bar mount? I don't want to effect the handling of my car.
They answered, if you install the sway bar your car will have over steer. They did not say whether or not I could only install the the subframe brace by itself.
It takes days for any emails to be answered.

Some questions don't need answering.
Yes you can install the brace by itself.
No it won't affect handling.
But the brace is unnecessary unless you're installing a bigger rear sway bar because the torsional stresses from the bigger bar is what causes the sub frame to tear if it is not reinforced. No bigger bar, no need for the brace.
If your subframe is tearing and weak and rusting out, a brace is not going to make a difference.

No rust that I can tell, but I want to make sure it's good for another 10-15 years.
Would I do better to take the suspension off and repaint the subframe?

Not a bad idea. Pull all of the suspension off, scrub scrub scrub, inspect for any cracks or damage, then repaint. Finding a replacement if there is damage will be a problem because yeah, your car is old enough to have a decent 401k and a mortgage. Unless you have a larger than stock sway bar on it putting a brace on isn't going to do anything useful for you other than some weight reduction on your wallet.
Just asking ..... so are you saying a subframe brace does no good to protect the subframe? Dirty is confused.

I'm thinking from more of an existential point of view I guess... Sure it protects the subframe. But if no big bar and rubber bushed street-tired-street car, does said subframe need any protecting? OP is surely free to do whatever he wants with the car, it won't hurt anything either.
Okay.... Many many many moons ago the guys at Comptech told me when i was building my race car i needed to use their cool looking subframe brace.
I do have an ITR rear sway bar too,
So where is boat on a hill, ca?

Beautiful Sunny Santa Clarita! Boat on a Hill is a lyrical reference, but if you've ever been up here it's oddly descriptive.
Yes, the CX didn't come with a rear sway if I'm not mistaken correct me if I'm wrong.
The rear suspension was swapped for the si/ex pieces/parts which allowed the rear sway to mount from the subframe brace to the LCA's
Went with the biggest i could find at the time which was the ITR.
Santa Clarita...... home of HPD Big Smile!
Then you should run a brace.
iirc anything bigger than an Si rear bar needs a brace or you risk tearing the subframe. that’s why the EK9 has the factory brace.
but OP’s car? No. He isn’t modifying his factory suspension.

I have tuned the alignment and have a tiny bit of over-steer, mostly during extreme braking, into a corner. Just what I want.

That happens to be my employer

Not stock, but I have no interest in changing my sway bars. I do have ground-control with 15 percent stronger eibach springs, skunk2 alpha lcs (spherical bearings)...tokico shocks.... mostly stock.

Yeah, gotta run a bar on those. The 96-00 chassis were paper thin and even worse for tearout. The 92-95 EX's and 94-01 non-R Integra subframes that already had mounts had a better survivability rates but are still on borrowed time with an ITR bar.
