Default Honda Accord JDM T2W4 MANUAL LSD question

Hi Accord owners,

I picked up a JDM T2W4 transmission for an engine/trans swap I'm doing, mine has an open tube that looks like a vent tube near the shift levers. I found a picture of one of the same trannys, but it doesn't have an open tube like mine... Looks like it has a cap or a cover of some sort. Can you tell me if this is a vent tube, and where this is a vent cover shown here? Is it needed? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm fairly new to Hondas.

I *thought* one always needs a vent for the transmission. Is this the only vent? If so, then I think yes. If there is already a vent then I think no. Another thought, could it be there are multiple locations to put a vent on these transmission, maybe depending on the vehicle?

Vent tube, yes.

The cover, the transmission will operate without it.

Thanks guys for the replies. I knew it had to be a vent tube, but I've had trouble finding any info on the internet as to what is used to cover the open hole, and it was difficult to make out what was in the picture. Fortunately, I just found a vented rubber cap mixed in with all the extra parts that sure looks like the same part. It fits perfectly on the vent tube, so I'm good to go!
