Default Ek Hatch vs Coupe for daily driving + future swap/track use?

Hi,

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding between a hatch and a coupe for my next car. I'm being drawn to the hatch because I drive a fit right now and I really like the body style, but I'm also drawn to the coupe because in my area it's both cheaper and easier to find a clean coupe than it is a clean hatch, not to mention y8 in the coupe over the y7 in hatches.

Regardless of which car I end up buying, it would end up enduring multiple cross country road trips so reliability is a factor, as well as long term driving comfort. Also, down the line i'd most likely end up swapping the motor for a b20vtec or lsvtec for that extra power bump.

I think overall I'd be inclined to spring for the coupe since it's cheaper, but I'm wondering if there's any drawbacks that I'm not taking into account right now.

Thanks for any help!

They both have their pros and cons, if you like the coupes I say get it. Either will do well and perform similar with a swap.

Main concern with the coupes is weight imo. Yeah you get the EX with the y8, but I think you get 200ish more lbs. I'd personal get the CX Hatch, especially if swapping, less starting weight is nice for the track, and I also think it looks better...but I may be biased lol

On the other hand, EX gets the y8 trans which if you're staying natural aspirated, it's a nice transmission to have until you swap over.
