I'm Mickey, an old bike guy for 50 years on.....
I'm having a bit of a problem and wondered if anyone here might be super savvy on old bikes?

I have a 1980 Honda Hawk II with electric start only. The electric start clutch gear inside the engine case, is not working.
Rather than split the case, I looked behind the right side cover where a kick starter might go to see if the engine was machined to accept a kick starter. It will.
I parted out a 1978 Honda Hawk II about 15 years ago and thought I had the kick starter assembly. I found the case with the hole for the shaft and a decent looking seal in the hole. I have not found the internals(shaft, gear/sprocket, spring, etc.) Still looking for it.
My question is this; Does anyone know if the kick starter internals from another model Honda bike will work? There are many for sale on eBay, but none specifically for the Hawk. I think the only year model Hawk with a kick starter was 1978, but I'm not positive.
