Default Question about different types of spark plugs?

2010 Civic LX, the manual says to use regular spark plugs, not iridium or platinum. What is the reason for this? Can I use ruthieum plugs?

My apologizes, you are correct. I was pretty certain that I had read somewhere (maybe in the Hanes repair manual?) that only copper was to be used. Does that mean that the newer ruthieum spark plugs are okay to use to or should I strictly stick to the type listed in the manual?

I never heard of ruthieum spark plug.

The iridium spark plugs listed in the owner's manual will work perfectly well and should last over 100,000 miles.

Sorry, I misspelled it, it's actually ruthenium. https://ngksparkplugs.com/en/product...um-spark-plugs

They're on the Rock Auto website and listed as compatible with my car but idk if that's true or not cuz I haven't hear of them until recently either so I'm trying to learn more about them.
