Any ideas on going from messed up Black to White
Hi everybody!
I just got a 1991 Honda Accord Lx.
It needs a new hood, drivers side fender and front bumper cover.
The original color of the car is black.
I'm giving thought to fixing up the outside. The inside of the car looks great.
I'm in Arizona. So in the summer, honest to God, it goes to over 120%.
I have seen pictures of Accord coupes done in all white. I think the lines on the car look good in white. And due to the crazy summertime heat white is a great color to go with.
As the car will still be painted black on the inside especially under the hood, and in side the trunk, I'm trying to think of how to do something on the outside with black.
I'm open to almost any ideas. But I do not want black on the roof (or very little). I'm thinking do the car in white and the lower panels (following where the factory molding is) go with black.
OK, folks your turn to say what you think!

If you are planning a quality full color change, it will be expensive. To do it correctly the car would need to be stripped. Masking around windows would need to be real tight or the black edges would look bad. If you painted the roof white it would help, if you're ok with that panda look (I have a white car with a black roof now). When I lived in Glendale I had a completely white car and getting in when parked it was still hot, but not as hot as my buddies black truck. That 90° at 3am got old, so I bailed.

Not looking for high end job. The idea of black and white is to try to blend a really black car to a mostly white one.
The cars paint is toasted so a repaint is not going to hide an already nice paint job.
I'm thinking along the lines of Maco but hopefully a better masking job.
I have seen white cars with all black inside. Most retail car companies get their cars all black/gray on the inside, no matter the outside color.
The black inside hides stains and so on.
So a white outside, black/gray inside is not unheard of. And out here the temperature diferance between the colors is a lot.
I'm coming up on 20 years out here. Don't see me moving.
I used to live in Los Angeles. And I only enter California becouse I have family there.
I just could not take all that crazy California stuff..... But one could write a book on that!
