Here is a cool little device that will let you monitor the state of your battery hassle-free:
Bluetooth Battery Tracker

The Battery Tracker is super light and small, and it installs in a couple of minutes. Just connect it to your battery (one wire to the positive and one to the negative terminal), download our free app to your smart phone or tablet, connect via Bluetooth, and you're done. Having troubles starting or battery seems sluggish? Simply open the app, and it will show you exactly what's going on with the battery. It will display the voltage and capacity percentage, but you can also use it to test your battery and even your charging system/alternator. It stores data, so you can view and analyze graphs later, which is particularly useful if your car is equipped with some extra electronics and you're trying to figure out what's causing that parasitic draw that's killing your batteries.

My favorite features are the daily battery status notifications and warnings when the battery is low on juice. For example I have my low capacity warning set at 25%, so when the battery drains down to 25%, I will get a warning on my phone.
