Default Missing fuse box cover

I lost my fuse box cover in an embarassing sequence of events that ended with it flying off of my windshield and into traffic. I have a new one on order but it's gonna take time to get here. In the meantime, is it ok to leave the fuse box uncovered and is there anything that might be around the house that I can use to safely cover it temporarily, like saran wrap or tinfoil?

Either one may possibly work temporarily. Heat resistant silicone wrap would probably be better; but, more difficult to get readily.

You mainly want to keep moisture and dirt out. But, the engine compartment does get hot.

Ok thanks. I'll fashion something from both, maybe a layer of saran wrap with a layer of tinfoil above it and I'll keep an eye out for any silicone wraps while I'm food shopping later.
