Icon7 Wiring Harnesses

I am not sure I am in the correct forum but this is my question, our grand son just bought a 2000 Honda Civic 4 cyl. The guy he bought it from installed a V6 but decided he was not going to ract it, so he put a 4 banger back in, which happens to be a 97-2000,1.6 L D16Y7 engine. so with that being said what engine wiring harnesses does he need, how many does he need and where can he get them. not able to find a great deal of info on the internet. The one that is currently has some terminals cut off. Is there a good reference shop repair manual that he can get to help him with the electrical and other restoration?
Thank for your assistance and comments. You are welcome to send information to my e-mail daveandleigh75@gmail.com

I don't know what the number is on it but I believe it is for the D16Y7, the engine that is in the civic 4 cylinder , I can get the number on the ecu box if necessary. Thanks for your help.

Use the engine harness that matches the year/trim model of the chassis... and modify it to fit the D16Y7 as necessary.

JRCivic1,
Our grandsons Honda Civic is a 2000 EX Coupe with a D16Y7 1.6 L Engine with a 5 speed manual trans so use that engine harness and add or subtract the connectors as necessary, correct. Next question, where do you buy engine harnesses? I have used the internet to search but was not sure what I was looking for, I will search this forum. Thanks from an old, old guy. Restoring classic american muscle cars sure was less complicated.
Appreciate your assistance.

From one old old guy to another... I am always happy to help. Restoring classic muscle cars isn't really less complicated, it is simply more comfortable to you.
The 2000 Civic EX originally comes with a D16Y8 (SOHC 1.6L VTEC engine)... and you have stated that the engine in the chassis now is a D16Y7 (SOHC 1.6L non VTEC engine). The trick here is did the previous owner use a Y7 or Y8 Intake manifold ? If the latter is installed, the EX engine harness will fit almost perfectly and require only one modification (IACV wiring and plug style)... even though the VTEC related plugs will just hang and not be used.

How comfortable are you with posting a few photos of the engine bay here on this thread ?

JRCivic1,
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.
Our son and grandson have decided to install a V6 Vtec in the Civic. They just started to compare cost to performance and concluded that using a V6 would be more practical instead of build a 4 banger. The question is, what Vtec V6 would be the best choice for the civic sohc cam or dohc cam?
There are so many choices, early years or later years?? New ecu and harnesses is not the concern just getting the right engine to beef up. We have looked at many web sites and v6 engines are relatively cheap. Avery (grandson) just graduated this year through the corona mess and it will be an added gift for his graduation. Any advice and recommendations from all you experts will certainly be appreciated. Thanks
