What have I done now. Stereo works, blinkers don't?
Well I did something. I replaced the factory stereo with a JVC unit so that my wife would have bluetooth handsfree calling during her commute, and that seems to have worked. Unfortunately I seem to have leaked out all the blinker fluid in the process, at least that explanation makes the most sense to me. Neither turn signal works.
I suppose the most likely explanation is that something happened to the relay, even though I don't think I touched it.
But, is it possible that I could have wired the stereo such that it would work but screw up the turn signals somehow? I don't know of any reason that there would be a connection, but maybe you do, or know how I can find out.
I was also searching around under the dash looking for a keyless entry connection (which I have since learned isn't there), so I could have disconnected something by accident, but I have no idea what.
Where should I start?

Did you happen to unplug the hazard switch while removing the stereo for replacement? If you did, maybe it wasn't reconnected.
If that is not the case, then check under-dash Fuse No. 19 (7.5A) and under-hood Fuse No. 5 (10A).

I bet that's it, I don't remember reconnecting it, probably because it is kind of out of the way. Thanks, I'll check it as soon I have access to the car again.
Don't connect the illumnation wire from the after-market audio unit - it causes problems with the dash lights etc. including the possibility of the signal lights.
The problem with my turn signals was, indeed, the hazard button. It's connected now, and the signals work, but the dash lights for the turn signal don't come on. I'll have to see if it is affecting any of the others. Are you suggesting just to leave that wire hanging? Will the unit light up without it?
The dash and console illumination wires (Red/Blk (+) and Red (-)) are separate from the wires (Grn/Yel (+) for Left; Grn/Red (+) for Right, and Blk (-)) for the signal indicators on the dash gauge assembly and for the front and rear turn signals.
I have a similar issue with my 01 lx. First it was the blinkers and hazzrd lights. Now my tail lights dash light radio and blinkers are out. I have to turn my tail lights on and off wit a toggle switch I rigged up. Radio and dash lights are out and my blinkers don’t work... could this be the hazard thing too or something else entirely??
