I removed this start button thing, someone hacked in and am in the process of reverse engineering the wires... but i have this kludge im trying to sort out:
Now, according to a diagram i found elsewhere on honda-tech, it appears the black with white and yellow which have been spliced here are related to ignition and/or starter. It appears i can re-splice the black with white back together, but, im not sure what to do with the yellow and white that its currently tied to.
I coudnt find a diagram that specifically talked about these wires, which appear to fork off to a odb1 connector (which, has been dangling under the dash and i have no idea where its supposed to go, so i sorta wrapped it up there loose.)
Anyone have any idea how i may approach dealing with the yellow and white wires in the image?
so i butt-spliced the starter wire back together, and disconnected the yellow and white, which... for no reason i could understand, they were wired to ground. Clearly something else was done in the ignition switch though, because, when i replaced it, it all just 'worked'. i didint take the old one apart to see what was really going on, but, whatever, its all working, so. dont care.
Good thing you removed that yellow wire - it was undersized for the amount of current that needs to flow through it and could have been a hazard down the road.
