94 del sol engine to a 97 civic dx?
I bought my 94 del sol d15b a couple months back for a very cheap price fixed some things but it ended up blowing up after a few short weeks. (Connecting rod) I found a Honda Civic dx on Facebook and ended up buying it for 100 dollars. Now the guy thought it had a broken timing belt but in reality did an oil change plugs jumped it ran some new fuel in it and it started right up. So I now have the blown engine pulled and out and the running d16y7 out as well. Now for ecu if I want to use my wire harness from the 94 d15 obd1 will that work for the d16 obd2. I really don’t want to switch over. I have all the parts off both engines. They are both manual and I have nothing against going to get a tune. If anybody could let me know that would be great.
it may help to clarify what you're trying to do. this post comes across a little "ramble-y" and convoluted.
you want to put a D16Y7 in your OBD1 Del Sol. this is right?
the easiest and cheapest way to do this would be to swap the complete intake manifold, exhaust manifold and distributor from the D15B to the Y7. all you'll need are new gaskets. it should start up and run, but it may have a CEL on for the VTEC stuff being "disconnected"
