Newbie - 1997 Honda Civic Driver
Hey everyone! I've never joined a car forum before and I know NOTHING about cars! I'm looking to change that and that's why I'm here! In June I sold my 2017 Honda Accord, and downgraded to a car I bought with cash: a 1997 Honda Civic. I LOVE Honda's and wouldn't want to drive anything else, but now that I have a 23 year old car, I NEED to learn what the heck to do with it and how to maintain it and hopefully to do a lot of the maintenance myself! I'm embracing this as a new adventure. I want to learn how to take care of my own car and fix it dirt cheap the way my brother does with his. He can help me, but he's also a very busy man! So I need to learn for myself. I am literally starting from SQUARE ONE. I need to start with what kind of tools do I need? Where's the best place to buy them? What brands are the best? How I even begin to look at the kind of maintenance to do? and when I need a mechanic, how do I find a good one who won't rip me off? Any and all suggestions welcome and I'm excited to be a part of this honda loving community!
