Japan vs US parts
I need to replace my front bumper cover and wheel well liners.. my 2012 Civic LX sedan was made in Japan, and I am having a harder time finding parts that match the Japan OEM numbers (or they cost more). The same part for US/Canada version are easily available. Is there an actual difference in these parts or is it just a different number for the same part? Specifically the front bumper cover and R/L wheel well liner. I can't seem to get a straight answer on this, and don't want to order a part and have it not fit.
PLEASE any assistance would be greatly appreciated

If you search online Honda dealer sites, it will list the compatible parts numbers for the vehicle you specify. Even if there are different part numbers due to different manufacturers, it should still fit if shows it as compatible. It generally is a different number for the same part; but, made by a different manufacturer (there may or may not be slight variance in quality; but, should work). An exception would be a revised parts, which would usually include a note on the website that a part has been superseded (but, this usually is for mechanical parts, not bumper covers and liners).
Use a site like Bernardi Honda Part or Majestic which allows you to search based on your car's VIN. Doesn't mean you have to order from them.

Thank you.. here is an example.. my fender liner is per my honda dealership and my VIN# is 74151-TRO-A00 (for the left side). This is very hard to find.. but 74151-TR3-A00 is available all over the place and its the same part just for US/Canada made cars. I ordered, so will find out if it fits or not.. it did not say it could be used on both America and Japan models.. ?

Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is specific to your car. There is a VIN plate at the bottom area of the driver's side windshield. It is also on your car's registration, etc.. You can use it to search for car parts applicable to your car. It is not the part number.
