Need suggestions on updating my DC2 suspension bushings and these cheap coil overs on
I have a 1998 Integra gsr that I just got and I need to update the suspension bushings on it. I was ready to pull the trigger on the energy suspension polyurethane bushing kit but then I got to thinking that might not be the best choice. I found the Hardracing bushing kit. Do you guys think it would be better to get the energy suspension kit, the hardracing kit or just some quality aftermarket like moog or something. I plan on using the car for some occasional street use but I’m really looking to get into doing some hpde.
Also the car came with what I think to be some cheap eBay coil overs that I don’t know how old they are. They seem to ride ok and are now blown out or anything. So I’m thinking I’ll concentrate on the bushings, ball joints and probably tie rods before dealing with the coil overs. Thoughts on that?
Re: Need suggestions on updating my DC2 suspension bushings and these cheap coil over
Stick with the Hard Race and figure out what kind of coil overs you have, and the spring rates.
Since your budget is limited start there.
Whats your tracking experience level? No need to buy all go fast parts when your experience level doesnt dictate it.
Plenty of time for that later.
Get a rear subframe brace asap!

I believe they are Yonaka Coilovers. Website says they are Spring rates: Front springs: 12kg / 180mm Rear springs: 6kg / 200mm
I have no track experience. I’m just going to be starting out.

any recommendations on a rear subframe brace to go with? I feel too many companies make parts for these cars and I don’t want to buy junk.

Cool thanks. That's the one I was looking at from my research. What do you think about these coilovers? I'm thinking about getting rid of them and going with the popular combo of the koni yellows and ground control adj. coils.
Re: Need suggestions on updating my DC2 suspension bushings and these cheap coil over
These coilovers might do ya for now. but research what max spring rates the dampers can take in case your budget cant swing the Konis right now
I'll echo Kaan with the ASR subframe brace.
You cant go wrong with the Koni Yellows with ground control, tried and true amongst us honda drivers.
make sure you buy the race valved konis if you go that route
Seat time is what you need to concentrate on not go fast parts.

Agree with everything above and to add:
From personal experience, if the car is going to be use primarily for DE weekends save your money on the hard race stuff. Once you get to the point of replacing bushings, go with sphericals in the RTA and compliance bushings. Im not sure how much you daily drive the car or plan to but since I have completed a full spherical set on mine, its not to bad for occasional weekend rips or mountain driving etc.. they pay dividends when setting up the alignment and minimizing deflection.

Awesome thanks a lot guys for the help and suggestions. The car won't be daily driven at all. Just for when I feel like some spirited driving and when I get to bring it to the track next year. I'll get the ASR Subframe brace and go from there. The car is a 1998 so I have no idea whats been done as far as maintenance so I'm trying to catch up on that stuff right now. Tune up, oil and trans fluid change, next is timing belt, wp, and valve adjustment.

id just freshen everything up with oem stuff and get it ready for next season (..if we have a next season that is lol)
btw..dont put those jack stands on the rear cross member. use the jack points on the side
Yes I normally wouldn't put the jack stands there but I don't have the proper pads for two of my stands so they would have not sat properly on the jack points. They would have dug into the rocker panel and body. I'm super excited to get on the track. I'm close to NJMP and they are pretty much done for the season. NASA has one more event in a couple of weeks and HPDE1 is all booked up. I think I'll take my 4 year old daughter down to spectate though. She is a race car fan

Re: Need suggestions on updating my DC2 suspension bushings and these cheap coil over
oh yeah... now that i can see the pics for some reason... can you use some chassis saver on the rear subframe please. drop the arms, pull the sway bar, and hit it with some black rustoleum at least. surface rust leads to other rust.

Yes thank you. I am planning to do that before I put the subframe brace on. Looks like my front inner wheel arches have some surface rust also. There was no plastic splash guards in there when I got the car.
Re: Need suggestions on updating my DC2 suspension bushings and these cheap coil over
Just my opinion but there is nothing wrong with HardRace bushings and pieces.
I run them myself and haven't had any issues with them.
Yes Spherical's are good but they have some downsides too.
Especially in dirty and sandy environments, Not knocking them but i've seen some premature wear from them.
If i were to switch to those id use these https://www.pci-racing.com/product-c...-bearing-kits/
