Are these gauges easy to remove ? I just bought my EDM ITR today and would like to bring this back to stock. Any idea if they’re easy to remove ? I hope they’re not glued in to place.
Any advice would be very helpful for me !
Only way to know for sure is to carefully pull it apart. Remove the cluster, carefully depress the tabs holding the lens in place, remove the 2/3 screws that hold the carbon face in place and depress the tabs and remove. At this point you can check and how the over lays are attached. If they can be peeled off easily you can carefully pull the needles off or cut a slit into the face and pull them out off. Preferably you wouldn't want to remove the needles as the chances are high of breaking them and trying to calibrate would be a pain in the ***.
**Edit**
Looking at the pictures closely they look like they are not overlaid on top of the original faces (Tach and Speedo) and are solid pieces, again only way to know for sure is to take it apart
So I found this switch hidden between the cluster and steering column. EL doesn’t have an official website, but from what I gather, it appears that these glow gauges are glued directly onto the factory gauges
I am thinking about just buying a JDM gauge cluster (with ABS and SRS) in order to save time and avoid have gauges with nasty glue residue.
Anyone have any experience removing the gauge cluster ? thanks for your help
update: The original gauges have been resurrected ! After removing the instrument cluster, I was able to get access to the gauge overlays. They were glued directly onto the originals, but with something similar to rubber cement. It was fairly easy to remove, but there was lots of excess residue, which I removed with some isopropyl alcohol. I am happy with the results. I am afraid the needles moved during this process and may require some calibration.
Finally, I cracked the Plexiglass while putting everything back together. I am going to try to get an old instrument cluster from a non-type R, like a LS or something.
Wow that looks so much better. Those overlays looked like ***.
Integra clusters are "wired" using a thin flexible circuit board on the back. Anything not built into that was added on so it should be fairly easy to figure out what needs to be removed. I've taken Integra clusters apart more than I care to so feel free to post pictures of any questionable wiring and we can help out.

So behind the instrument cluster, I found this little black box. I presume it's some sort of transformer. The four gauges were connected to it as well as the switch that I posted earlier.
Besides these known wires, there are also wires that exit out of the this compartment down below the dashboard. Some wires are bundled to others using electrical tape. To what are these wires connected ? I posted a photo, not the most demonstrable, but you get an idea of what's going on.
I also just replaced the dead DOHC VTECT LSD ABS decals on the rear windshield.
