not reccomended but it can be done.
1 male to male stainless steel barb fitting."long nose" version if you can find them is better because you can use 2 clamps on each side.
2 or 4 heavy duty hex screw clamps.
1 mini 15$ vice to squeeze the fitting for a clean cut with the angle ginder. You cut as flat to the vise as possible.
THICK WALLED high pressure high temperature OIL SPECed hose. If it doest say oil on it dont use it and go for 1) (.Thick wall is cruicial because you want to tighten the clamps a lot.)
You can either do
1) existing braided hose -> barb male to male < existing braided hose. (You cut 1-2 inches of your damaged braided hose)
Or do :
2) existing braided hose -> barb male to male <- rubber hose-> barb male to male <- existing braided hose (if you need to cut a lot of your existing hose)
Do a cold manifold idle test for leaks. Let it heat cycle 3-4 times the fan to come alive and stop.
Do e neihboor ride with a white towel around the repaired part. If you see oil spots after the ride try other barb fitting or different hardness hose.
Again it can be done but its not reccomended.
Or just cut where the leak was, male barb to barb, connect hose, clamp it down on the ends, done. I shortened my feed line this way and 3000 miles later, holding perfectly.. *shrug*
