As I continue my journey to repair this car I discover this little black box.
Alldata calls it "intake air resonator" while hondapartsnow calls it "chamber b" but that doesn't matter I got the part number for it, but I'll call it chamber b. The chamber b in my car has a vacuum hose that goes into chamber b's solenoid, while the rest of the hose goes into a "F" shaped connector one of the hose goes somewhere near the firewall while the other doesn't go anywhere, it's just a short hose dangling off the "F" connector; also the wiring connector for chamber b's solenoid is missing, I'm not sure if they completely removed it or moved it somewhere. Overall it looked like someone was messing with it but gave up halfway through
With all that information out of the way, my questions is, what is the hose and wiring of chamber b suppose to look like? Is the "F" shaped needed? Where does the vacuum hose go into?
1. The parts diagram shows the vacuum hose routing for chamber b. The electrical connector plugs into the vacuum actuated solenoid valve.
2. The F shape (air intake tube b) is a battery vent tube, to provide fresh air to help disperse gas from the battery as most batteries (even sealed ones) vent gases.
Actually my Accord didn't have the main chamber nor tube b and I so happen to find ones in good condition at a salvage yard while looking for a main air flow tube. The "F" connector I'm talking about is #6 in the first diagram.
I see that a hose connects to #9 or what hondapartnow calls vacuum tank in the first diagram which I am not familiar with, I am not sure if my car has it, I'll take a look in the morning.
