Default Any experience with rain tires?

Just wondering if anyone can point to a set of relatively inexpensive rain tires. I took a look at tirerack.com for some ideas. I just wanted to throw them on my stock wheels for the winter. I don't plan on driving up through the snow enough to get winter tires so I'm just trying to find the rain tires. Thanks all.

You may wish to read this before you buy Hancook tires.

Incidently, I'm not sure why he'd cheap out on tires or a tow. I suppose he blew all his money on the car and calipers.

I would suggest Toyo Proxes FZ4. I've ran a set of them for the past two years as a fall/winter tire and they give great grip even in the slush. Goto their site to learn more specifics about them. I picked up mine from Belle Tire for $73 a tire for 205/50-R15. By the way they're a great dry weather tire also!!

"Although they are listed as all season radials (hence the 4 in FZ4 for four seasons), they would not be very good on snow and ice at all, especially in the wider 205 width."

That's one opinion on those Toyos for rain use. Are there any other suggestions? I'll take a look at the other suggestion but the opposing link doesn't give me much confidence even though you probably shouldn't take cheap tires onto the track anyway.

I have the FZ-4's, came with mine when i baught it used. Extremely good in wet and dry conditions, but the few times I used them in the snow/slush.. well.. personally i think the blizzaks i have on now work a little better heh. Of course the toyo's are a little worn down, well ok, almost completely at this point

i like my nitto's 450 extreme performance. its an all around good tire (havent tried it in snow yet) but has good traction in wet/dry. the treadwear is also good for such a good traction tire. it does blister if driven hard during autox though.
