Default 2001 honda accord v6 swap questions

Hello! Im pretty new to cars, and I recently had my accord break something major. Im planning on making the current motor work again regardless of what happens.

I want to make my accord into a track car. I've done an absurd amount of research and I wanted to see if I've found any good options. Would any of these motors work for someone who does not have the tools for much custom work (i know a welder but he's busy)? Should I just try to build power off of the current J30A1? please let me know.

(edit)
Also, my budget here would preferably be less than 7 grand, ideally 5 grand. I have an average tool set (enough to get an intake manifold and throttle body off).

I previously stated that I want this to be a track car. As for what kind of track car, I havent done any racing. I dont really have the best idea of what I want since i have no idea what the accord can do. Definintly not street racing, I more imagine myself doing... time attack sort of things? If thats a "type" of track car?

Im also not wanting to keep much stock in an effort to learn about how a motor works.

Im also open to getting the car running and getting a different chassis

Sorry that I dont know much about this. That ls why I'm here I guess lmao.

(240k miles on current engine, muffler is a must.)

-J30A5 V6 (7th gen accord)
-J35Z2 V6 (8th gen accord)
-J35Y1/Y2 (9th gen accord, vcm/vtec on y1 and vtec only on y2)
-J35Y5
-Type S motor (if this is the one thats best, which one? I dont know much about the type s. I don't even know who makes it.
-K20 type R head/K24 block
-A different 4cyl Motor?

Also, where the *** is the engine code on my block? I've been looking for it for weeks. Lmao.

I think the first thing you should ask yourself and tell us...how much money are you wanting/willing and ready to spend on a track car. if you have no budget, it's very hard to tell you a direction. Are you talking road race, autocross, rally, top speed, drag race, smash-up-derby, LeMoN, CHUMP races?

Two, are you trying to compete in something specific, beause that will also matter as to what is legal to run in those events. An autocross, for example, might have a category for stock, where all you can do is put +1 tires and some shocks and that's it. head swaps and such would bump you into a category where you would have no chance.

If you don't have this answered on your budget you probably need to go think about that before deciding anything else. Many new posts are people who want to build a super race car, but accords just are not that platform for the most part. However, if someone is just trying to build up a faster car than stock for primarily a sportier feel, and has $5000 or so to spend, then you have options. You will need tools if you are going to do anything, and from what I am reading above, and engine hoist and a full set of tools would be a good start. It's also important to check if your state has any rules to be careful of, for example California might make you take a smog test for a 9th gen if you swapped that motor in, even though its a 2001 .

Anyway, more details, and some budget ideas, what type of track and such and people will offer in some thoughts.

If you want a time attack car, you might be able to get into it with your budget. Here's the average cost per level:

Clubsprint Entry Level less than $10,000
Clubsprint Mid Level approx $25,000
Clubsprint Podium approx $45,000
Open Entry Level less than $25,000
Open Mid Level approx $50,000
Open Podium approx $100,000
Pro Am Entry Level less than $65,000
Pro Am Mid Level approx $125,000
Pro Am Podium approx $150,000
Pro Entry Level approx $200,000
Pro Competitive Level $400,000+

With that said, it's a lot more about the suspension and wheels then about the engine. In the entry levels, I would advise going into Street and not make engine changes if you want to play. Otherwise you end up in modified street, where all mustangs and camaros play and you won't be competitive.
You can read the requirements here so you have some idea.

Maybe it would also help to read further on someone else with a Hond accord and making a time attack car, although this one is in a different category.

Good luck.
