motor idles very high prob around 3000 rpm replace idle air control no help throttle position sensor seems ok car sat for a long time and was started with bad gas, had to pill the head and do a valve job not fun but this car is a gift

 

check for vacuum leaks, including PVC valve

 

Post a picture of your throttle body. If it has a dashpot on it, the diaphragm in them it typically torn by now, meaning the spring is holding the throttle plate cracked open, even after then engine is started, and could be the source of your high idle. You can remove this dashpot completely from the throttle body and cap the vacuum line going to it and you should be fine.
