Default Using auto harness in manual b16a swap

I swapped a JDM b16a into an ek civic a while ago. When I got to the wire harness part I realized mine was really cut up and I needed a new one. I saw a forum that said to always use your stock harness so I tried looking for one but I couldn’t find one. My original harness is out of my 97 ex manual. So I read another forum and it said that I could use any 96-98 ex Mayans or automatic harness I just would have to change one or two plugs and I’d have a few extra too if I chose the auto one. I couldn’t find a manual harness anywhere so I got an auto. Everything is hooked up and converted but I have not been able to get the motor started since the swap. My question is can I actually use an automatic wire harness in manual b16a swap or did I just waste all the money and time on it?

A good condition harness from an automatic is better than a cut up manual harness. find a copy of the engine wiring harness diagram from the factory service manual. I'm sure someone has shared it in here somewhere. may be in the stickies. check all of the connections in the diagram against what you have. IIRC, the diagram indicates differences between auto and manual. focus on those areas to get your harness hooked up properly and working.

If you are using a JDM engine and a USDM ECU you will need to do this bypass trick, This article describes how to trick a U.S. OBD2a or OBD2b ecu into thinking a CKF sensor is wired in when there actually is no CKF sensor on the engine,

Also you already made a thread and @egsleepercivic had mentioned the Auto harness.,

"Now this is pretty easy, but then again i love electrical. But all you need to do is connect 5 wires total. One of the plugs that you disconnected from the auto shifter is a 14P plug. Cut the plug off. Your going to have a 2 thick blk wires and 1 blk/blu wire, Solder those 3 together. Those together lets your car think its in park and releases the key and starts your car. Important"

The above is from the thread below

the answers to your wiring should be in that thread
