Default Old 75 CVCC rust bucket

Not sure where to start....Bought an old CVCC 5 speed...body is straight but has rust issues. Planning on getting it sand blasted and see whats left of the body. It's really low millage, and really straight. I've heard it run, sounds pretty good. I hope I can find a gas tank from a later or different make that will physically fit the car. That is why it was parked years ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Unfortunately the best site for first gen CVCC is now down (1stGenCivic.com) with all the information you could ask for. If it runs, try to just keep it together. Look into getting a 32/36 Weber carb to replace the Keihin one if it ever fails.

There are lots of older Civics on the road and in junk yards. You might even be able to find a new tank. But your existing tank might be OK. You need to find out if it is leaking. There are products there that can be used to seal a rusting tank, but that is a LAST resort. It depends on how bad the rust is. Don't assume it is toast. There are several years that have the same gas tank -- at least '74-'78. Let us know how the body sanding goes.

That site appears to be down, to the public, at least. I get a popup window wanting a username and password.

Yes, I was an active member of the site and my username and password no longer work.
