Default P0453 Evap Control Pressure Sensor High Input

Anyone out there have experience with this code? Just popped on my stock 1999 Honda Civic EX 1.6L (D16y8) with 204,000 miles. Never seen it before. Odd, since I just came back from a Honda dealership getting an alignment. Hopefully just a coincidence. Drove it home fine, no codes, no problems. Sat in my driveway for 3 days before I drove it again. Started it up and it immediately threw the P0453 code.

You can try a new gas cap.

There is some good info in this link,
https://technet.ff-squad.com/code91.htm,

Copied from link above.
I found a way to get around the code but isn't a true fix. This only happens when the car has been sitting for a long time like over night. You have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the accessory position (radio on, but the car is off), and count to 10 slowly then crank the car. That will pressurize the fuel lines and the code will not come on.

Seeing if anyone actually had this code pop on their Honda. I'm gonna do a smoke/vacuum test but it's just odd it's never thrown that code before. I'm hoping it's a failing gas cap as suggested. I ordered an OEM Genuine Honda cap just now so we'll see if that fixes it for good

Its worth a try, years ago I had this Evap code pop up during my smog test! the inspector said go pick up a new gas cap and clear the code, it worked and I passed smog.

You would be fully validated by questioning wunf on his rationale for suggesting you to replace the gas cap. He'll tell you that he once had the code and fixed it by replacing his gas cap. He's a liar and a troll who is allowed to spread misinformation in tech forums. This is the consequence of minimal oversight in tech forums.

And did you click on wunf's link in post #2. Did you find any mention of gas cap? Of course, you didn't.

More often than not, the code is caused by an electrical problem.

LOL dude I swear your the troll!

Where did I say there was anything mentioned in the link about a gas cap fixing the issue! I said there is good INFO to read!!!!!!…...……...…… The link I posted has more useful info than the trouble shooting picture you posted!

Again like I said that gas cap fixed my issue at the smog like I said! stop acting like your the only one in these forums that knows all the answers Muller__ its people like you who are quick to dismiss others ideas because of your oversized EGO and they end up not getting the help they need...

I'm here to help people! I'm not a looser like you going around dismissing peoples ideas like I know EVERYTHING!!!...

get a life bro!
