So I have a 86 Honda Civic with a really shot hondamatic 3 speed. I want to swap it out for a Manual unit but can’t seem to find one model specific 83-87. I read Honda started naming engines differently starting in 88 and the e series became the d series. Is it possible to swap out my transmission with one from a 88 and newer. I’m not worried about the cable to hydraulic conversion I just want to know if the bell housing patterns are the same. Any help would be appreciated, thankyou again.
