Default 91 Civic DX Hatch - B swap axle won't fit

I'm swapping in a B18a1 from a DA and I cannot get the left side knuckle to install because the axle is too long.

I've tried the civic knuckle, the DA knuckle, a new DA axle, but no. Axle is compressed and fully and seated against the intermediate shaft and knuckle but still pushes either the lower or upper ball joint out too far away from the vehicle to mount.

Wtf?

This is an auto chassis (if that matters). Innovative mounts. Engine mounted fine.... Not sure what else would be relevant.

i searched and came up with the intermediate shaft likely being the issue, theres at least 2 different length shafts and i dont even know which shaft you should be using, but you should check that...

Thanks for the tip. I still cannot find info on different length intermediate shafts. Everything seems to say the 90-93 Integras are all the same.

I'm willing to switch to 94 int shaft and axles, but that could be expensive failure.

If I take the axle nut off the passenger side, I can slide that axel in about 1/4", which seems to be the right amount of play.

The drivers side axle appears to stick out 3/4" too far.

Drivers side.

I did finally find an article that points out the half shaft I have is the SH3 from a gen 1 (B16), which is longer than the 90-93 shaft.

Looks like my options are to rebuild an 88 teg axle with a 90 end, switch to an actual 90-93 half shaft, or go 94 shaft/axle with a different transmission seal.
