Default Bouncy ride after Tein FlexZ install

Hey Everyone

I installed Tein FlexZ coilovers on my car(1998 Civic DX with B Series Swap). After I did this, the ride was really bouncy. On both full hard, soft, and between. I was told by the alignment guy that I need to adjust my preload. I though that preload was set from the factory, and didn't need to be adjusted. Is this true? Are these coilovers not very good ones? Let me know what you guys think. Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Did you follow the installation instructions exactly ? They should not ride "really bouncy". This is usually an installation issue... improperly modified bump stops and lowering beyond the recommended level (causing increased spring rates from elevated spring pre-load).

I dont have modified bump stops on the car. Also I tried to keep the car near stock ride height. Its 3 fingers in the front and 2 fingers in the back.

If you moved the stock bump stops from your OE struts over to the FlexZ struts without cutting them according to the installation instructions, then you have found your problem.

Make sure you aren't adjusting the ride height with the lower spring perch, this is to set preload only. Ride height adjustment is done by rotating the shock body up or down. Alot of people adjust these like the cheap eBay coilovers sleeves and end up with a horrible ride. There's good tutorials on YouTube on how to do this correctly. My buddy made the same mistake and complained of a bouncy ride.
