2006 Honda civic hatchback acceleration problems
Hi everyone,
My name is Andrian, and I owe a 2006 Honda Civic hatchback for the last 3 years, I am driving for the last 2 years with a problem, no mechanic can find what really is, a total check will cost me more than the car.
The problem started then I tried to do a rally and was changing the gear fast from one to another, until I got a very strong smell of burned plastic and stopped messing around, that smell was in salon for a couple of days. Now I don't know if is related to my 2 years problem, the problem is that doesn't matter in what gear I am if the Rev is under 2000 the car is chocking if I press the acceleration stronger to get speed, so I go gentle and give her time to get the Rev, so not a chance for overtakes, on the hills again I have to give a 4000 Rev in a lower gear so I can shift in the next one,but to get to 4k Rev have to go gentle with acceleration not to chock, and if is choking few times in 1 minute Check Engine comes on dashboard, next day disappears from dashboard.
I was in a few garages, computer shows crankshaft and camshaft, which was changed but the problem is still there. A friend told me to take off the airflow sensor and go driving, I did and wow power was back, then pressing acceleration strong was getting speed and no chocking just 1 maybe, I put back the airflow sensor problem was back, so I changed the airflow sensor to a new one but problem still there.
Don't know, what can be, if somebody had this problem please help.
Thanks,
Best Regards
Andrian
