Default Help Deciding Turbo for 700hp

Hey HT,
I'm looking to make 700whp or very close to it on my k24/k20 combo.

Currently my setup is as follows:
K24 bottom end
Wiseco 10.2 to 1 pistons
manley rods
k20a2 head with BC valvetrain.
cx racing gt35r turbo kit

My setup made 540whp and 402wtq at 26 psi on E85 last year revving to 8200 rpm.
Recently my turbo has developed some serious shaft play and I'm looking to upgrade my turbo. I will also upgrade my intercooler and piping to accommodate for the bump in power..

I am particularly fond of STCs interceptor and borg Warners s362/363. I think these turbos are well matched for my setup and power goals.

I do not want a precision turbo as i want something different and to have the rock solid reliability of STCs Garrett based turbos and Borg Warner turbos.

Thanks in advance!

anything reputable is better than those Ebay turbos...I'm using a Turbonetics turbo and it is fine for my setup.

I agree. I inherited the turbo with the car. It was only only a matter of time before it l the turbo crapped on me.

1. T3 or t4 manifold
2. How is your budget

my buddy bought a t4 72-68 with a billet wheel by REV9 and made 720whp @24psi on a 84mm LSV. I would love to personally buy a 2k Precision but my wallet says other wise. I made 680whp with a REV9 t3 66-62 on my b18c1 81.5mm

At under $1200 you could use a JB billet Garrett GTW 6265 or 6465 in a T3 turbine housing.

I'll definitely vouch for the GTW line. I have a GTW3476 and that sucker just jams.

What's your setup and what kind of power are you making?
How's it compare to a gtx3576?

Fully built Z6...
Skunk2 rods
76mm CP 9.0:1 pistons
ARP hardware
ACL bearings
Ferrea 6000 turbo valves (std size)
ported/polished exhaust
Viton seals
Comp 59300 turbo cam
Comp 916-12 springs
AEM adjustable cam gear
Skunk2 70mm TB
Skunk2 pro series intake mani port matched to 70mm TB
AEM fuel rail
Aeromotive 13129 FPR
-6AN fuel lines
Russell 40 micron inline fuel filter
Walbro Hellcat 525 fuel pump
Marshall fuel pressure gauge
ID1050X injectors
Go Autoworks mini ram
Go Autoworks 3" downpipe
Buddy Club Spec2 exhaust
Garrett GTW3476JB
Vibrant 12810 FMIC
Hallman Pro MBC
Action clutch stage3 1ms
stock flywheel
Neptune EMS

I'm not entirely sure how the GTW line compares to the GTX line, unfortunately. I have no personal experience with a GTX I made close to 400whp on 26psi when on pump 93 and water/meth spray. I had to tune it back due to slipping clutch. Made some ridiculous torque and it just wouldn't hold up top. Lol. Finally landed at 364hp/325tq. I have since changed over to E85, tests out to 75% ethanol, and retune is in progress.

That's a nice build you have there man! You should make some good power on E85.
The GTW line of turbos is on my list now.

GTW 62mm or 64mm is a great suggestion. For a K24 I'd go for the 1.00 A/R as K series engines want to breathe. The 62mm GTW should still be decently responsive in that configuration.

The BW SX-E stuff also looks good, they just haven't had much take-up in the Honda aftermarket scene. I think they mainly used on diesel upgrades and as V8 twins...their design just looks "heavy" in comparison to the other brands.

We have them both w/ the same .82 a/r T3 turbine housing (which is going to be the largest in T3 open and typically what gets used on the K or big B series wanting peak power)
A GARRETT dual ball bearing GTX3576 is going to be ball bearing only, uses the narrower GT CHRA, has larger wheels, will make more power, and cost nearly twice as much when comparing it to the journal bearing GTW3476

The gtw series looks very promising.
I've seen a good many k series on borgs but it seems like everyone goes straight to the s366 which should flow enough for 800+hp.
The rarely see the S362 maxed out, which is closer to a pt6266. That's part of the reason I was having trouble deciding with the borg line of turbos.

I'm still leaning towards STCs interceptor. But we shall see.

Well a PTE6266 pushes 800whp plus.

Yeah, that is true. I guess I'm just basing it on wheel sizes.
I know the PTE turbos flow very well
