Question about B18B1 build

Default Question about B18B1 build

hey all, im looking at buying a B18B1 short block for my LS-VTEC setup and the seller says it is built with GSR pistons and Howard Rods.. ive never heard of Howard rods and im wondering how well GSR pistons perform in a B1 block?

They are aluminum rods. This is what I found....

Howards makes all kinds of rods, and I highly highly highly doubt someone spent money on aluminum rods in a street car with that setup.

They're probably just regular H beams.

OP, have you broke down the engine to confirm? Just remove the oil pan and look from underneath. I wouldn't just take the seller's word. Hell, it could just be new valve cover gasket and spark plugs and he claims it's BUILT. lol
