Not sure if this is the correct place for this, seemed appropriate since its part of the body of the car. I'm getting the body of my teg ready for paint. As part of my restoration project, i'm swapping out trunk lids for one that has a factory GSR spoiler. Of course, its nowhere near the correct color. So, i've separated the spoiler from the deck lid so i can prep for paint and take care of the bit of rust on the stud in the spoiler. The gasket is pretty flat, i intend to take something like a rubber erasing wheel to completely remove the gasket material so i can clean that area up and also paint that area with the rest of the spoiler. This gasket doesnt appear to be available any more from Acura. What is a good substitute for this gasket? I was thinking maybe the type of foam tape you would normally use for a truck cap, but i can't find it thin enough, everything seems to be about 1/4" thick. Any ideas?
