2007 Civic hybrid not accelerating
Hi !
I have a problem with my 2007 civic hybrid: It starting having episodes of not accelerating anymore. But then after sitting for a while (2-3 hours) it works like normal.
It started with just very very slow accelerating in combination with no more dashboard lights for the hybrid battery, no charging, no assist.
Then it stopped accelerating completely on me twice. I was able to maintain speed (20 mph) but no acceleration what so ever. I stopped and checked that it wasn´t the engine, so I put it in neutral and was playing with the gas a little, no problem at all. After some time I was able to continue to drive and I was just normal as ever.
Then the blinking D appeared in the dashboard, so it is maybe a transmission issue ?
After restarting the car, the blinking D was gone ( started in neutral), but while I was driving off the parking lot, the power steering gave me trouble for a couple of seconds, and then worked again without a problem.
It was fairly hot on that day (90-100), and I have not been driving the car ever since. Could it be that this is all connected ?

This sounds like an issue with the hybrid battery. I wouldn't be surprised if this issue resolved itself once the battery was able to recharge itself or after the weather cooled down. Batteries do not like being left inside hot cars
