Default 2007 Civic - Aux button not working

Hi, just picked up an old civic (2007) 2.2

it has the stock stereo, and has a CD/AUX button which when i press it doesnt actually go to AUX, just stays on the radio.

it doesn't appear to have an Aux input, however there is a cable hidden in the middle of the dash that has a cable with an ipod/usb/3.5mm jack plug

Ive tried plugging a bluetooth adapter into the 3.5mm jack but when i click "AUX" on the dash.. nothing happens,

Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you considered changing the aux port?

I had a similar (same?) problem with my Civic. The aux button stopped working suddenly. After googling and watching a bunch of YT videos, I learned that the aux button only works if you have an aux cable plugged in, meaning if nothing is plugged into the aux port, then it can't switch from one mode to another, radio to aux for example. So, if you press the aux button and it doesn't do anything, it's likely because the aux port no longer works and to put it in the simplest terms "it can't communicate with the button that something is plugged in." The moment I replaced the aux port, my aux button started working again.

Hope that helps?

Hi thanks for the info.

I don't think mine has an aux port... But someone has modded it with a parrot car kit and in the gap where the aux port should be is a multi plug cable with 3 ends... 1 is 3.5mm jack.. one is iPhone (old style) and also a USB connector (works for powering stuff)
I thought I could just plug something I to the jack and press the aux button but it doesn't seem to work...
I'll take it to get looked at a garage see if they can figure it out thanks!
