Environmental Controls - Blend door
I replaced my blend door actuator on my 99 honda civic. Everything works but the air coming out the vents doesn't match the mode setting. I have the setting set on the center vents and the air is blowing to floor. I have it set on the windshield setting and the air blows out the center vents. It's all messed up and backwards. I dont know how to fix it. Replacing the actuator was easy took me 5 min. I don't know if there is a certain way to install it because I just pulled the old one out and put in the new one.
Yes, it sounds like you have to take it off and reset the little levers that pushed the doors. I had a similar issue. My guess was it was broken and in the wrong direction when I removed it and so putting in the new one, it was alreadt wrong. Had to pull and reset.
Are you talking about the mechanism that moves when you adjust the mode setting. How do you reset it? You had to pull and reset? Do you have any pics?
Actually there is a way how to reset it, but the person i talked doesn't know how to do it. He said something about holding some buttons on the A/C panel or something like that. I'm googling and I'm not finding anything.
yes, the little levers, you'll loosen the screws, then set it the way you want it on the dash. Once the motor moves, just readjust it afterthat to make sure it matches the button selected.
I understand what your saying but there is another way. That way sounds like a pain in the ***. My buddy told me he doesnt know the exact procedure on how to re-calibrate it, but told me it involves turning the key to the on position and pressing some buttons to re-calibrate it. I'm going to go and mess with it and see if I can figure it out.
