Just got done putting in a new charcoal canister, had to put in a tee valve because the original canister is discontinued, the car now won't idle properly. husband tried to adjust it but the adjustment screw won't budge. I don't want to give up on it yet. Seems to be ok until we have to put it in drive and have the AC on. Windows are off track thanks to someone doing a horrible diy tint job and not knowing what they was doing before we acquired the car. So not having the ac running and rolling the windows down isn't an option. Anyone have some experience maybe it's possible lines are switched? We are pretty sure they are in the right place. It will rev at 900rpm fine in park with ac on, and in drive with no ac, once in drive with ac running even on lowest speed it drops and dies. Please help me save my car and take it off the market for sale.
These attached images includes instructions to check for vacuum leaks, along with other checks related to an idle issue; they are from a February 1999 Honda Service News.
Does anyone have a diagram of the hoses? I currently have a red one going no where and a #3 thats going no where i assume #3 goes into that empty plugged off space on top in second pic but i cant locate a diagram of these hoses.
1. Your second picture with the rubber plug suppose to be like that.
2. Vacuum hose # 3 is from the Control Box and goes to the Purge Control Diaphragm on the charcoal canister.
