2009 Accord V6 Timing Belt Snapped
I replaced my timing belt, water pump, tensioner and idlers with a kit I bought from Ebay. It was supposed to be all OEM parts. All parts were in OEM boxes and labeled correctly except the timing belt. I didn't notice that until the belt snapped at about 12,000 km. It was not labeled Honda like the one I got from the dealer or the original one I took off.
Now that it is broken I removed it and plan to install the new one to determine the extent of the damage. I am concerned about getting the crank and cams timed properly. I am under the impression the crank rotates twice for each revolution of the cams. How can I ensure that when the cams are set to the indicator marks and the crank is lined up on its mark that the crank won't be 360 degrees out of phase. Is my assumption correct the crank could be set on the mark but the number one piston may not be at TDC? I do not see a procedure in the service manual that mentions this it just says put the marks in line and go but it does not mention what to do after it breaks only refers to changing as a maintenance activity. Anyone know how I can be sure I am lined up properly?

So I went ahead and lined up the marks and looks like I got it correct. I did a compression test on all the cylinders and all were around 200psi. The car runs well watching on a scan tool there are no cylinder misfires so looks like I dodged a bullet. When the belt snapped we were sitting a a red light so looks like once it snapped it just shut down and didn't result in interference between the valves and pistons. I would still like to know if my assumption is correct that the crank turns twice for every revolution of the cams.
