Hi guys, I searched the forum as well as google and youtube for an answer to my problem. Unfortunately with no luck so far. Therefore I hope you guys might have an answer.
The car was running but the AC did not work. I did some tests and found that the clutch is not working. While testing I wanted to pull the AC clutch relay and jump it to see if I would get 12V at the clutch. I misinterpret the position and pulled the ignition coil relay instead and jumped it. I then noticed my mistake, put the relay back in place and pulled the correct one.
After that the car did not start anymore. It cranks but is not getting sparks. So I changed the ignition coil relay and the 15A fuse that goes with it. Still no start. Once I turn the key I do not hear the fuel pump building up pressure.
Could it be that main relay or maybe something else?
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from y'all. Please let me know if you need more details.
@tech8 I did check all the fuses and changed the relays you mentioned. Nothing. The car is cranking but does not start. One thing I noticed is that the green key light in the instrument panel does not come at all. I know it should come on for about 2 sec and then turn off, or blink depending on the key. This one does not come on at all. Could that be a part of the problem?
I had pulled all fuses one after the other and visually checked them yesterday. But I might just buy some new ones and switch them out. Another thing is that I tried to connect the obd2 tester and it comes up with a link error every time. Not sure if this is part of the same issue or something else.
There is an open (break) somewhere in the circuits; can be fuse, wiring, etc. But, it sounds more like a blown fuse causing issues with the issues you're experiencing.
I went ahead yesterday and replaced all the fuses you previously mentioned @tech8 . Still the same issues. The green key symbol does not show at all, no noise from the fuel pump, no spark, but it cranks. We did try the spare key but with no success.
At this point I really don't know what else it could be. Do you have any ideas?
Since the Immobilizer green key symbol indicator does not light up, the immobilizer-keyless control unit (receiver) may or may not have gotten damaged. The receiver is located at the ignition switch, on the steering column. However, even with a replacement receiver, the Immobilizer system would then have to be reprogrammed.
Before you do anything else, contact the Honda dealer and ask for the Immobilizer Brake Code.
The Immobilizer brake code is a 5 digit numeric code that is enter by using sequences of moves with the ignition switch and parking brake.
The following is generally the procedure and must be done correctly and within the allotted time.
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Insert the key into the ignition switch.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait for the brake system indicator bulb check to complete.
4. Enter the first digit of the Immobilizer Brake Code by setting and releasing the parking brake that number of times within 30 seconds. For example, if the first digit is four, set and release the parking brake four times.
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). (This enters the digit into the ECM/PCM.)
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), set and release the parking brake the appropriate number of times, and turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) to enter the second, third, fourth, and fifth digits.
NOTE: When you turn the ignition switch to ON (II), the immobilizer system indicator does not blink but stays on. The immobilizer system indicator stays on even when the ignition switch is turned to LOCK (0).
7. After you enter the fifth digit and turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), the immobilizer system indicator blinks three times and then goes off. You can now start the engine with the key.
When you start the engine with the key, the immobilizer system indicator comes on and stays on while the engine is running. Also, when you turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), the indicator does not blink five times as it normally would.
8. Start the engine within 10 minutes or you must repeat this procedure entirely.
NOTE: This procedure is only a temporary fix, and the underlying cause stills needs to be fixed. (However, with someone I helped before on another forum, his Immobilizer system did work normally again afterwards.)
I have same problem with my Honda civic 8th gen 2009 year . Somebody crashed in my driver door and and i bounced to some metal thing with passanger side door. At first the engine went on for a second after crash and then died and have never started after that. All the lights go on but the dash and headlight start twinkling when i try to start it. Engine didnt get hit , wheels look normal and i dont know what it could be.

I seem to have encountered something similar, the car started, I engaged the reverse gear and it car shuts off, and has refused to start, but continues to crank, I discovered the IG coil fuse was blown, I replaced it and yet car won't start.
I also noticed that at ignition position II, my Battery and Engine Oil indicator lights don't come on, while the Wrench indicator light comes and goes off almost immediately
