Default I paid for the whole Tachometer, I'm gonna use it.

Any evidence online of anyone successfully reving out F22b1 engines to 8, 9, or even 10k rpm?

Bottom end geometry is not favorable for those kinds of RPMs. The head also flows very, very poorly. You would need serious head work and porting just to make 7500-8000rpm viable.

Yeah, I've seen 7k on engines that were built, ported heads, valve train, stronger bottom end. And I heard someone had a track car that pushed 8500 sometime ago, but I never found anything.

De-Stroking, valve train, porting, lighter rotating assembly...maybe then, maybe 8-9?

Best to just switch to something like an F20B at that point honestly. If you must have high RPM then an F20B will do 9k+ with just valvetrain and cams. The auto version with 180hp are about $600. If you're planning to mod it that's the place to start. Throw in valvetrain, cams, bolt-ons and tune and you've got a 9k+ rpm 2.0L for <$2500. Probably 230-240whp. No need to touch the bottom end as they have a very favorable geometry for that kind of thing.

What is your overall goal here, Max power and torque or Max engine speed?

The F series SOHC engines were designed to make fairly similar power to the smaller displacement higher revving engines(6500-9000 RPM) but at lower engine speeds 4500-5500rpm. This kept them more reliable for a daily commuter. With a bit more compression and a properly designed intake, exhaust and valve train, you could easily see the same numbers out of a SOHC without revving to 9000 - 10,000 RPM.

Bisimoto took his fully built 1991 F22A1 to 430WHP @ over 9000rpm
