When was hondata not enough for you?
Truly this is not a product bash. At what point was hondata no longer sufficient for your needs in road racing or autocross? Disregard for the moment whether a standalone is legal in your class. What was the standalone able to accomplish that otherwise couldn’t be done adequately with hondata?
I’ve have pro efi in a different platform and have also used aem v1 a long time ago in yet another platform. I don’t have a particular need to move on from my hondata s300 in the little d16z6 with a gt2860, but just wanted to see why others chose to go to a standalone in a road race or autocross setting.

From a Kpro v4 perspective:
Drive by wire with the would be nice, quicker OBD2 response would be nice, easier external sensor integration would also be nice.
From an app perspective:
Configurable warnings and visual alerts are much needed and would improve the product.
I still use it, but may switch to a Haltech Elite at some point because it offers the features that I am interested in.
I use Hondata S300 because its basically the common ECU to use and my tuner is good with it. I'm also in a horse power capped class so it is "easy" to keep me under power. Dublo is right on its draw backs, but for the price you are getting some pretty good street options... i think they are "too slow" and not configurable enough for race use.
I have read a bit on the Haltech Elite and if i didn't have a horse power cap i'd likely use it (after winning the lottery). It will keep optimal performance under all weather conditions which is something hondata will not due at all... god forbid you go from a cooler dyno session to a higher elevation and higher heat race... you'll be down on power with a hondata vs a haltech.
the drag racers LOVE the haltech because they can make quick and automatic injector changes and things like that... and bam they either have more power or they change the power band. there are several videos on youtube about the hondata (specifically k pro) vs. the haltech. i think the most informative were from humble performance.
