A/C issues
I have replaced the condenser along with low pressure switch, all relays, fuses then serviced the system with RobinAir service cart. then I started the car the compressor clutch starts running in concert with the cooling fans and as soon as they stop so does the compressor clutch. Each time I turn off the car and restart the same sequence of events happen. Airconditioning for 5 to 8 seconds then back to unconditioned air. I do not want to spend $300 or more dollars for a new compressor unless I need to. does anyone have any other troubleshooting advice they would like to offer? I am banging my head on this one. Help if you are able, it is greatly appreciated.
so I have moved to a new step in figuring out the A/C issue. everything I did prior was good and would have worked except the ECM/PCM appeared to be the problem. just like all other problems, remove all items and the last thing though not obvious must be the issue. I unplugged the ECM/PCM then reconnected, and like magic the A/C system worked as it should. Turned off the car, restarted and the issue of only 8 seconds of run time was back. I reduced the problem to the top plug in the computer, so everytime I unplug the top plug and reset it with the engine off, then start the car the A/C system will work as it should. I would conclude the ECM/PCM has issues and needs to be replaced. What would you think? Give me your thoughts. Unfortunately this part is a dealer remove an replace then program it in the car. And that my friends may cost a bit more than I wish to spend at this moment, but I want cool air in the 95 degree weather we have been experiencing the past week and half.
