Hello, I need some assistance with replacing the reverse / back out lamp on a 9th Gen , 2012 Honda Civic .
Please see pics both on the outside and inside of the boot lid.. however I can't find where the bulb is located.
Would appreciate any advise or clues on how to go about this :-) Back out light on the outside Back out light on the inside, but can't see the bulb connectors
Thanks for the quick response, so to get to those connectors as shown in your picture do I have to remove the top layer of metal covering all around the boot lid from the underside ?
No. You just remove a few plastic clips then pull back part of the trunk liner to access the bulbs.
It is shown in the owners manual which is viewable online for free at North America Honda's website. You're in NZ; but, your Civic should be similar if not the same to access the bulbs.
Well that's exactly what I did was remove the plastic clips to pull down the liner.. however beneath that is the metal fitment as seen in my 2nd picture. I can't see the bulb holder nor any cables which is strange. There is also nothing missing, no holders or anything like it as my lamps are fully functional. The only reason I need to change the reverse lamp is to upgrade it from filament to LED. Perhaps I might try and unscrew those 2 connectors and see if the lamp fitment on the outside will pop out. Perhaps it may reveal the bulb holder ?
Looks like I'm getting somewhere after some Web research. this fitment doenst appear to be very common and is similar to my fitment, but wonder how its hooked up ?
