Hi, Have a 2014 Odyssey with 115,000 miles. All service has been done at Honda dealer. Had timing belt changed at 100k as well as plugs and injector clean. At approximately 110k it started having misfires and Random misfires. Dealer checked egr valve, cleaned injectors, replaced injectors, replaced coil packs, adjusted valves. After third visit dealer recommended a new long block. Talked to Honda zone office and they recommended I do what dealer said. Not impressed!
Took the car to an independent garage and after hearing my story they reasoned that there must be something mechanical that Honda missed, so they pulled the engine and rebuilt it. No change. Then replaced crankshaft sensor, egr valve and pcv valve. No change.
When normally started from cold it always turns on check engine light and posts various cylinder misfires as well as random misfire, and runs rough. If at startup I immediately rev the engine to 2000-2500 and hold it at elevated RPM for about a minute it will not turn on the check engine light, but the engine does not run as smoothly as before this started. Can be restarted during the day with no check engine light.
FYI, at engine rebuild the cam sensor was NOT changed.
Honda said we could trade it in for $39,000.
Any ideas?
