Default 1994 Accord EX.

So I just bought a 1994 Accord EX a few days ago. I bought it with a few extra mods on it. Aftermarket exhaust and I believe a cold air intake? I don’t know the brand of either yet. Been to busy with work and such to have time to sit down with it and really inspect it. But pretty much at any time I can smell gas. But with what I’ve searched online and then went at looked at the car in the areas where gas leaks can happen I don’t see any of the signs that I have one. There’s no puddle where the tank is. No build up around the oil cap and spark plugs. The only other thing I can think of is that I have a bad gas cap. Cause when I put on my vents with the heat on I can smell it pretty well. Don’t want to be breathing in gas fumes for when the winter gets here and I need the heat on all the time.
I don’t really know what to do as of right now. It’s summer where I live right now so I can have the windows down (A/C does not work as of right now.) and not really worry about having to smell it. But when the nights and mornings get cold I’d like to have my heat on. But without smelling gas.

If you have any other questions about the car I will answer them the best I can. I just need some advice and am willing to listen to anyone who can help me out.

Thank you in advance.

One thing you can do is check the injector seals, the fuel rail, the line that goes into it, and the fuel filter at the end of that line (deep down in the engine bay). Have someone turn the key to the first position (accessories only, don't start the car) while you're looking in that area. This will turn on the fuel pump and fully pressurize the fuel system. Any leaks will show up then. Also, does your exhaust still have a cat? Things can get smelly real quick without one.

You could also have a leak at the vent and charcoal filters near the gas tank (if that's the same area as later ones such as my 99). They should be big and obvious, the filters/box units are like the size of a loaf of bread.
