What’s up guys I’m currently building a B20v motor should make anywhere between 260-270Hp all motor on M5 and around 350-400hp on nitrous, I was wondering what transmission set up should I go with for drag racing not to sure what to go with but definitely don’t want to be going into 5th gear before the 1/4 I’ve heard everything from a b16 trans with a 4.7 final to a gsr with a 4.9 final does anyone have any experience with these type for transmission set up for all motor? Also going with 23” slicks

 

Need to know your rev limit.

 

Most likely 8600-8800 depending on where my tuner wants to set it

 

Rev limit seems a bit low for drag racing and a higher HP all motor build. If you're only planning on running a stock trans go with a GSR.

 

On my old turbo setup which made 321whp on the dyno, I had a 00 civic SI trans attached to it with a 4.40 final drive. I was shifting at 8,750 rpm and was hitting the rev limiter in 4th before the end of the 1/4 mile. That was with a 1.60 60' and an E.T. of 11.69@117mph on 23" slicks.
