Default B16 piston/ b18 block compression For FI search question

Hello,

I have b16 with 81.5mm wiseco pistons and eagle rods.

I want to drive a b18 so I have a bit more torq.

The problem is I. Don't know the compression atio of my pistons yes very domb. I have asked allot of companies this question, but they don't help.

6542M815 4233c this is the piston number can any one help please?

It it possible to run b16 pistons in a B18 with with b18 rods and a b16 cylinder head?

And what if I run this combination with b16 rods?

I hope you can help me out!

It it possible to run b16 pistons in a B18 with with b18 rods and a b16 cylinder head? Absolutely. Your compression ratio with this combination (assuming you haven't surfaced the head or block) using a .030" thick head gasket would be 11.45:1.

And what if I run this combination with b16 rods? This is NOT going to work well at all... your piston would sit over 1/8" down in the bore and your net compression ratio would be about 8.7:1. This is a bad idea for a turbocharged engine.

I hope you can help me out!
Does this help ?

Hello this helps verry much, thankyou verry much for you fast and good explanation!

im running it with a turbo 11.45:1 is maybe high i run rond 98 in europe ? what if i run a B18 cilinder head does the compression ratio be lower, i can buy this if needed.?

What is your advice to my for my setup?

btw what was my compression ratio in the b16 do you know that?

regards

What is your advice to my for my setup? Run race gas or swap the pistons to some flat tops that lower the compression down to around 10:1

btw what was my compression ratio in the b16 do you know that? About 9.9:1

Hello I have made a calculation on this website https://liam821.com/pix/info/bseries.html

Is a bit accurate? I want about 600hp on pump gas rond98

My tuner is saying that the compression ratio must by 9. How can I fix this with the b16 pistons a have?

You cannot get to 9:1 compression with B16A pistons... nor can you reach 600 HP on cast pistons in a "B" series engine... and that power level using pump gas is really pushing it. You really need to start being realistic about your goals and what components are really needed to reach these goals safely.

Hello

I understand OK 500 HP is also OK with pump.

The pistons what I have from the b16 are from wiseco and the rods from eagly.

I have put the b16 rods in the b18 and milled 2 mm of the blok. 0.0787inch.

The compression ratio seems now good.

I want to do it like this, Wil it work like this?

Regard
Antoni
