Should Drive Face be loose
Hi,
I went to replace the belt on my sons 2012 Honda Ruckus when I found that the previous owner had driven the "Starer Ratchet " on to the "Drive Shaft" so the teeth on the Starter Ratchet split the teeth on the Drive Shaft right up the middle.
I had the pry the Drive Face off and replace it after filing down the teeth on he Drive Shaft enough that I could slide the Drive Face back on. Now my the Ruckus rattles badly at idle. Not when under load. I can wiggle the Drive Face. Is that how it is supposed to fit.
I'm just trying to figure out if I need to replace the Drive Shaft and Drive Face again.
Thanks from a very frustrated Dad.

no, it should not fit that way.
everything should be sandwiched tightly together when the crankshaft nut is torqued onto the crankshaft. The only thing that should move independently of the crankshaft is the variator itself.
