Default Dash repair mishap

I naively tried to fix a hairline crack in my dash with superglue, which as you Can see made it worse... anything I can do to get rid of this or make it look better that won’t further harm the plastic? Thanks in advance...

Hmmm...... at this point you'd be better off trying to get another one from the junkyard or...

you can get some kind of super glue remover and wipe it up and call it good. from the looks of it looks like a 5th gen civic. unfortunately these 20 plus year old chassis's we own are starting to show their age.

Is there such thing as a superglue remover? Possibly some sort of solvent, but not idea what that would be. But yeah test it on the plastic somewhere discreet first.

Honestly your best bet might be Bondic. At least you can get rid of all the excess before it hardens. I think the days of superglue being the dominant repair adhesive are over, frankly.

Acetone will remove super glue. However, first test whether acetone dissolves the plastic dash surface (in an area not visible) to avoid making the problem worse.

Get a big piece of vynl and cut out an overlay of carbon fiber or something

But no, there isn't another way to make it look good without removing it completely

That's just the dash bezel, pretty easy to find one at the salvage yards if they house civics. I've swapped mine out on a few cars as some previous owners don't know how to pull them without breaking them or mangling the clock area or......

In my area, I wouldn't bother trying to repair those, I just replace with a good shape used one I find in the yards.

You can just remove the piece and spray paint it or replace the piece.
