Default Cylinder glazing questions

Hi,
The cylinder walls on my B16 are glazed due to the engine running on idle for too much time during break in (had some cooling issues that needed sorting and it made me have the car at idle for too much time). The engine was run for about 50 miles and even with proper break in procedure during those miles it didn't help the excessive oil burning (did a few runs and decels in gear varying rpm, a couple of WOT runs to redline then off in gear). The problem is that I don't have access to buy quality rings again (used Hastings for this rebuild) , unless I wait for a month for them to get from overseas. Is a cleanup hone enough to reseat the rings or I will need new ones to get rid of this problem? Assuming all clearances are checked and in spec, of course.

if you didn’t drive it much the rings could possibly be still good and not worn down much. What you could do is rehone again and break it in properly. But what you lose is if you have time on your hands is if still smokes after breakin in just you taking it all apart again and replacing rings. While you breaking it in it would be a good idea to just order another set of rings and have them on order just in case it doesn’t break in properly and have as a backup.

Also it depends what rings you have, some aftermarket rings take longer to break in and some doesn’t take that long.
