Cruise Control does not turn on
Hello all I'm a newbie here and need some advice. I have a 2000 Civic si, with 207K miles, 100% stock. Everything is good, but the Cruise Control just stopped working a few days ago. I've checked fuses and see no issue there. The button on the dashboard does not energize, making me think it's the main switch. Is there a quick and dirty way to determine if the switch is bad.
Second question--what is the best way to remove the switch?
Appreciate any suggestions you may offer.

There is no light in the switch,(if there is I've never seen one work) the light turns on in the cluster after the switch is pushed down and the set button on the steering wheel is pressed
There is a rubber stopper on the clutch pedal to tell the cruise control unit that the clutch pedal is not down. When you push down the clutch the switch is engaged and turns off cruise control
Check the rubber piece on the clutch pedal assembly that is suppose to push down on the switch

There is a cc switch, its near the ac vent on the driver side. And yes it lights up but some times the light is burnt out. The switches on the steering wheel are to enable/adjust spd/cancel cruise control. Brake switch and clutch sensors can also cancel cruise control.

Thank you! Thank you to all who offered suggestions. It's working. Turns out it was the little rubber bumper above the clutch pedal. The "penny" tryick fixed it (tape a penny to the stop).
Thanks to a great bunch of guys!

The light is extremely useful for diagnostic purposes. If it turns on, you know immediately that the switch gets power. If cruise control does not work and the switch light does not turn on, it tells you to start your troubleshooting by testing for voltage at the switch connector.
